Weston Park is very much a community school, with pupils and staff drawn overwhelmingly from our immediate neighbourhood. This is, we believe, the source of one of our most beneficial characteristics: the extraordinary richness of our backgrounds - socially, ethnically and culturally.

We aim always to build on this rich diversity, going beyond the National Curriculum to give children every opportunity to develop their full potential, with particular emphasis on music, art and sport. Every term sees lively concerts and performances featuring entire classes playing instruments they have been learning. Our sports teams regularly defy our comparatively small size, beating all-comers in open competitions: we are, for example, the current all-London primary schools netball champions. And every year our oldest class - Rainbow Class - goes to faraway Pendarren in south Wales for a week's adventure and fun. We also regard play as crucial to the development of imagination and social skills, and incorporate it formally into our curriculum.

We see parents very much as an integral part of our community, and benefit from a lively Home School Association which takes an active part in school life, raising funds through voluntary activities to devote to numerous projects, such as inviting visiting artists into the school.
